JUNI
Extending identity across experience.

JUNI is a Southeast Asian restaurant and bar located in Melbourne’s CBD — a city saturated with high-quality Asian fusion venues. Entering an already competitive market, JUNI needed to do more than exist beautifully as a physical space; it needed to translate its strong in-venue identity into a compelling, recognisable presence across every customer touchpoint.

With an established foundation in place, our role was to evolve and extend this identity across day-to-day outputs — from point-of-sale and campaigns to social and digital. The result is a distinct visual and verbal language that feels sleek and elevated, yet playful, social, and full of personality.

Our work began with the launch of JUNI’s bar, introduced following a refurbishment. We developed a series of teaser campaigns and launch assets designed to build anticipation and position the bar as both refined and energetic. This set the tone for future outputs — balancing a ‘sleek and sexy’ aesthetic with moments of boldness and humour that reflect the atmosphere of the space and its service.

Building on this foundation, we developed a flexible campaign style applied across multiple initiatives as well as JUNI’s social media presence. We established a consistent ethos across all outputs — bold, playful, and unapologetically expressive.

For seasonal moments, such as Melbourne Cup, we created bespoke campaign identities that connected culturally and contextually. The “Happy Valley” event — a six-course Hong Kong-inspired menu — drew from traditional and vintage Hong Kong firecracker packaging. Through illustration, traditional motifs, and vibrant palettes, we crafted a visual language that honoured cultural references while maintaining JUNI’s contemporary, Australian sensibility.

Beyond campaigns, we played a key role in shaping JUNI’s ongoing social presence. Through art direction, photography, and video, we created content that demystified the high-end dining experience and highlighted the venue’s energy and personality. From lo-fi, disposable camera-style footage to fast-paced, TikTok-inspired chef features, the content was designed to feel immediate, human, and engaging — inviting a wider audience to see JUNI as both aspirational and approachable.

A studio favourite was developing JUNI’s “Lucky Cat Express Lunch,” aimed at Melbourne’s corporate crowd seeking high-quality, time-conscious dining. Inspired by the venue’s walls of waving lucky cats, the campaign centred around the line “Be the cat who got the cream” — a playful, confident statement signalling that JUNI’s lunch was the best option amid a sea of lunchtime deals. Bold, eye-catching, and cheeky, the campaign positioned JUNI as both a premium and accessible choice for busy professionals who wanted quality without compromise.

Across all outputs, the work consistently balanced polish with personality — ensuring JUNI stands out not only for its food and reputation, but for a brand experience that feels cohesive, current, and unmistakably its own.
